About

Hayato Matsushita is a conceptual artist and researcher whose work explores America as a symbolic and structural system through geometry, history, and visual language. He reframes the United States as “Hermerica,” an evolving experiment in unity, meaning, and transformation. His recent work centers on the “Holy Experiment” proposed by William Penn, a vision of society grounded in freedom, ethics, and coexistence.

In July 2026, he will present Esoteric America: The Holy Experiment at PII Gallery in Philadelphia as part of the America 250 celebration. The exhibition brings together his research into sacred geometry, early American symbolism, and philosophical traditions, revealing the hidden structures that shape the nation and proposing America as an ongoing experiment in transformation.

Artist Statement

“Through the study of Esoteric Americana, my mission is to uncover and translate the hidden symbolic and geometric foundations of the United States into visual art and experiences that reconnect people with meaning and shared ideals.”

Esoteric Americana  is an interdisciplinary practice that merges art, research, and spiritual inquiry to reveal the hidden geometry and symbolism embedded in the founding of the United States. Through this lens, the American experiment is seen as a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern ideals, a nation designed not only by politics, but by principles of proportion, harmony, and inner transformation.
